FISHING IN THE RIVER “SOR”
“Ribeiras del Sor” was built in 1956 by Natural Service of fluvial fishing and hunting”.
The upper border stayed established on “Presa de la Tronca” or dam called “Rafael” and the lower border over the bridge of “Ribeiras”. It keep opened to fish on the third of march of 1957. Its marks have been changed recently. So, after several transformations keep a lengh about 8’1 km being its upper mark the junction of the stream called “Panda” and the lower mark the bridge of “Ribeiras”. In the middle part exists a small game preservering of 400 m nearby the dams called “Ulló” and “Rafael”.
INFRASTRUCTURE
It’s an area with many buildings. In the upper part is found “The refuge of fishermen of Ulló” built at the end of the 60 years. Currently, has been renovated as Center of wrapping of sea-trout, a capture area and a small laboratory of incubation.
Every year are produced more o less 40.000 eggs of sea-trout. These eggs are grown in small streams and free areas at the middle part of the river. We are allowed to catch sea-trout when are swimming the river up to raise. Then, stay three months and are set in freedom to settle into the river again. The hanger bridge is found in the high bank of the river which was built in 1973.
Once that we arrive at the middle and lower bank we could enjoy gazing a small engineering piece. The only one in whole province: the chair-lifts of Alvariños and Muiños Vellos which will let us to cross the river easily.

El Salmón.
Salmon is the main specie but was extinguised from the river “Sor” little by little. Other species that we can catch are the sea-trout and the trout. This area has got category of salmon river.

Here is being allowed to practice catching fish in the river. Moreover, it is
posible to catch fish in the sea from rocks, port or a fishing boat.
This port has got a good conditions for yachts or sailboats. Here, we available one of the main Nautic Clubs of the whole coast.
